Doug Wicks
Sales Leader
My journey in emergency services began in 1978 at the Caton Volunteer Fire Department, where I rose to the rank of Chief and served as a State Fire Instructor and Deputy Fire Coordinator. Parallel to my volunteer service.
I spent 30 years as a Building Code Enforcement official before moving to Tioga County, PA. There, I transitioned into leadership roles as a Training Coordinator and eventually the EMA Director until my retirement in late 2024.
Combining decades of operational experience with a passion for sales that began in 1997, I proudly became the 4 Guys Fire Apparatus Dealer in July 2025.
100% Reliability
4 Guys was formed in 1974 as a company repairing milk tankers for farms, and shortly after, they expanded into the fire apparatus industry. The name, naturally, comes from the four men that founded the company. Since then, they have built over 3,000 trucks for departments all along the eastern United States.
4 Guys builds stainless steel pumpers, mini-pumpers, tankers, and rescues, on both custom and commercial chassis; as well as rebuilding a number of older trucks. They operate out of a 30,000 square foot facility in Meyersdale, which has been expanded many times over the years.

I grew up in Middleburg, PA, Snyder County and graduated from Middleburg High School in 1979.
I grew up across the street from the Reliance Hose Co. No.1. In 1977 I joined the fire company after turning 16 as a junior fireman. I completed my E.M.T my senior year in high school. I served as secretary, Ambulance Foreman, Assistant Fire Chief and served as Fire Chief for 33 years ending that position in December 2023.
I am still active as a firefighter/E.M.T. In 2000 I started selling 4- Guys Fire Apparatus for Bob Pursel of Commonwealth Fire Equipment till he retired in 2025 at that time is was approached by Doug Wicks who has taken over some of the PA territory after Bob’s retirement.
I have been a sales representative for 26 years and continue on. In those years I have sold 19 trucks and have worked with numerus Fire Department’s on their new truck process.
I enjoy working with Fire Departments in our sales area and would like to continue to work with your department on providing quality stainless steel apparatus from 4-Guys FireTrucks.
